The Agriculture and Forestry University (AFU), located in Rampur, Chitwan, was established as Nepal’s first technical university in 2010. The school aims to supply a highly qualified workforce to conduct excellent agricultural research and development. It aims to improve the socioeconomic conditions of rural communities by fostering the growth of agriculture, livestock, aquaculture, and forestry through high-quality education, research, and extension.

Agriculture and Forestry University aims to generate qualified workers who will advance education, research, and development in agriculture, veterinary medicine, fishery, forestry, and related fields.

Currently, the university employs 255 support staff employees and 107 faculty personnel. One thousand eight hundred eighty-three students are presently enrolled, comprising 1471 undergraduates, 367 M.Sc. students, and 45 PhD scholars from various disciplines.
