Most of the medical colleges and infrastructures have mainly been centred in the Kathmandu valley of Nepal. So, students from other districts and parts of the country have to go to the valleys compulsorily for pursuing higher education. This problem was realised by people in different parts of the country as well. The realisation of a need of the medical college was also felt in the western hilly region and thus in the year 2063 BS, the concept of Lumbini Medical College & Teaching Hospital Pvt. Ltd. emerged and immediately a 100 bedded hospital was established in Lumbini, Palpa. This happened with the permission from the Ministry of Health and Population of the country. The hospital has been upgraded to a 600 bedded hospital at present.
