The Indian Embassy has announced Mahatma Gandhi Scholarship to Nepali nationals studying in academic programs. Interested students can submit online forms through the website www.goischolarship.com.np.
Eligibility for Mahatma Gandhi Scholarship
- The applicant must be a regular 11th student in any accredited Nepalese educational institution. Before publication, the institute’s director or principal must confirm that the student is enrolled in class 11. The candidate must have earned at least 60% of the total points that might have been awarded in high school (class 10 grade transcript required).
- The candidate’s family must have an annual income of less than NRs. 2,00,000. You should upload any income documentation that the CDO, LDO, or municipal head has issued.
- The candidate must be a citizen of Nepal. You should upload your citizenship certificate or your parents.
- Before a candidate is posted ahead, the CDO, LDO, or Municipality must show documentation of their physical.
Mahatma Gandhi Scholarship Amount and Duration
Scholarships worth 2,000 NRs per month would be awarded to chosen pupils. As long as the awardees pass grade 11, the scholarship will be offered for a second year. Moreover, you must submit a declaration from the college or institute’s administrator that attests to your current enrollment in class 12 and is authorized (sealed).
The student’s final report card for class 11 is also necessary. By hand delivery to the Education Wing of the Indian Embassy in Kathmandu or the Indian Consulate General in Birgunj or electronically through email to attacheedu.kathmandu@mea.gov.in, the papers must be delivered by November 2023. Otherwise, the scholarship can be revoked. The scholarship will be withdrawn if the student drops out of school too soon or fails their 11th grade.
