The Sankhuwasabha district of eastern Nepal is the location of the Maya Khola Hydropower Project. The run of the river project was initially intended to be a 5 MW project. However, the capacity was changed to 14.9 MW by current NEA rules (@ exceedance factor of Q40). A metalled trunk road leads from Dharan in eastern Nepal to the project. A 3.4 km long 33 kV transmission line will carry the project’s electricity to the NEA substation built at Baneshwor.

A letter of offer has been released to the general public for Maya Khola Hydropower Company Limited’s initial public offering (IPO). From this 13th of Magh, the company will issue 19,92,000 units of IPO shares with a face value of Rs. 100. The company wants to raise Rs. 19.92 Crore through this IPO. If it is not fully subscribed, the early closure date of the 17th of Magh can be extended until the 27th of Magh 2079.
10%, or 240,000 units, of the total 24,00,000 units have already been issued and distributed to Nepalese citizens who reside and work overseas. Of the total shares sold, 5%, or 120,000 units, or 48,000 units, are reserved for firm employees. Have a mutual fund reserve. The remaining 19.92,000 flats are up for sale to the public. The company’s paid-up capital will be Rs. 1 Arba following the IPO.
The company had already given 10,000 unit shares worth ten crores of rupees to locals affected by the project and 240,000 unit shares to Nepalese people residing overseas. The promoter owners collectively hold 66% of the company’s shares.
