Girija Prasad Koirala, one of the most well-known name in the history of Nepali politics. He became a total of four time Prime Minister of Nepal including from 1991 to 1994, 1998 to 1999, 2000 to 2001, and from 2006 to 2008. When the country was in transition from Monarchy to a Republic, he served as the acting Head of State of Nepal between Jan 2007 and July 2008. He was born on 1924 in Saharsa, Bihar. He started his political career from the Biratnagar Jute Mill strike by leading the movement in 1947. After that, he actively involved for sixty years in Nepali politics. He also served as the head of Nepali Congress. He died on 20 March 2010 at the age of 85.

B.P Koirala was the first democratically elected Prime Minister of Nepal. He became Prime Minister of Nepal from 1959 to 1960. His full name is Bishweshwor Prasad Koirala. He is regarded as one of the greatest political leaders in Nepal that led Nepali Congress to become a social democratic political party. He was the supporter of Democracy in Nepal. After 18 months of Prime Minster, he was disposed and imprisoned by the direct instructions of King Mahendra. He was born in September 1914 and he died on 21 July 1982a.He was also a prolific writer.

Madan Bhandari is one of the greatest political leaders in the history of Nepal. He was a communist leader. He was the sensational communist youth leader who came into height after he defeated great rival Krishna Prasad Bhattarai in the general election. He was featured as ‘’Karl Max lives in Nepal’’ by New York times. He was born on 27 June 1951 in Taplejung. He believed that the way for communists to gain power was through popular vote and not radical armed movements. However, shortly after the elections, he died mysteriously in a car accident in Dasdhunga, Chitwan.

Ganesh Man Singh is referred as Father of Democracy and iron man of Nepali Politics. He was the leader of a democratic movement in 1990 against the Rana rule. He was the main leaders of Nepali Congress movement in 2007 against Rana rule and was able to overthrow the Rana Regime. He ultimately became the Supreme Leader of Nepali Congress, the title he held throughout his life. Ganesh Man Singh was born on November 9, 1915, in Itum Bahal, Kathmandu. His father was Gyan Man Singh and mother Sanunani Shrestha Singh. He died in 1997.

He was one of the prominent political leaders in Nepal. He was one of the active leaders during the transitional period when Nepal move from absolute monarchy to multi-party democratic system. Bhattarai became twice the Prime Minister of Nepal, once heading the Interim Government from 19 April 1990 to 26 May 1991, and then as elected Prime Minister from 31 May 1999 to 22 March 2000. He was also the President of Nepali Congress for nearly 26 years. He was credited for successfully holding the parliamentary election in 1990, a milestone in Nepalese political history. Pushpa Kamal Dahal also famously known as Prachanda is a leading Nepalese political leader in the current Nepali politics. He is the chairman of the Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist). He has become Prime Minister of Nepal twice including 2008 to 2009 and 2016 to 2020. Dahal led the CPN (M) as it launched a communist insurgency on 13 February 1996 which lasted for ten years and during which more than 17000 people died. He was born on 11 December 1954.

Sher Bahadur Deuba has become Prime Minister of Nepal from 1995 to 1997, from 2001 to 2002, and from 2004 to 2005. He is the current President of Nepali Congress party. He has been elected as a Member of Parliament three times, representing Dadeldhura, District. He was born on June 13, 1946, in Asigram – 3, Dadeldhura, one of the most remote districts in the Far West Region of Nepal. He was honored by honorary doctorate degree by Jawaharlal Nehru University in Nov 2016.

Khadga Prasad Sharma Oli famously known as KP Oli is one of the most prominent leaders in the current context. He served as the 38th Prime Minister of Nepal from 11 October 2015 to 3 August 2016. He is the president of Communist Party of Nepal (UML). He started his political career in 1966 and later on joined the communist party in 1970. He was born on 22 Feb 1952 in Terathum, Nepal. He lost his candidacy in the 2008 Constitutional Assembly election but later on 2013 Constitutional Assembly election; he was able to win from Jhapa.

Baburam Bhattarai was the 35th Prime Mister of Nepal from August 2011 to March 2013. He is the founder of Naya Shakti after he left the Communist Party of Nepal, Maoist. He was a senior Standing Committee Member and vice chairperson of Unified Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist). He has also served as the Finance Minister after he was elected in the Constitutional Assembly election in 2008 from Gorkha. He was born on 18 June 1954 in Gorkha belbas in Khoplang VDC. He was the SLC board first in the SLC exam of 1970 AD. He completed his Ph.D. degree from Jawaharlal Nehru University (New Delhi) in 1986.

Surya Bahadur Thapa was only the Political leader of Nepal who became five-time Prime Minister of Nepal. He served under three different kings in a political career lasting more than 50 years. He was the first Prime Minster under PanchayatSystemm of Nepal. He was born on March 21, 192, in the village of Muga, Dhankuta. He started his political career in the underground student movement in 1950. In his later years, he was the leader of Rashtriya Janshakti Party. He died on 15 April 2015.
