GRE score is used in the admission by the graduate school to supplement your undergraduate records, recommendation letters and other qualifications for the graduate-level study. It is conducted by Educational Testing center (ETS).
Eligibility
There is no any specific criterion for GRE test. Anyone can take this test irrespective of their age and qualification. However, applicants who want to pursue their graduate or doctoral degree generally take this test. In addition, you also have to fulfill the criteria of the institutions you are applying for.
Test Pattern
You can give a computer based test. For those where the computer based test is not available, you can go for a paper based test. The total duration of the test is 3 hrs 40 minutes. There are six sections and you will get 10 minutes break after the third section in your examination.
Types of GRE test in Nepal
There are two kinds of GRE test. They are:
General Test measures a candidate’s verbal reasoning, quantitative reasoning, critical thinking and analytical writing skills.
Subject Test focuses on judging the candidate’s expertise in specific fields

GRE Dates in Nepal
You can take the GRE Test once every 21 days, up to five times within a 12-month period. Make sure that you have taken the right test date and you are fully aware of policies and procedures about the test.

GRE registration:
In order to take confirm your test, you have to register for GRE by creating My GRE account. You can create your GRE account by four ways like Online, Phone and Mail and Fax registration. For a subject test, you can opt from Online and Mail registration.

The GRE General Test fee is $205.

GRE Test Centers in Nepal
The GRE General Test is available at more than 1,000 test centers in more than 160 countries. In order to know about your test center, go to web address www.ets.gov.
In Nepal, there are two test centers.

GRE score
Verbal Reasoning: 130 to 170 score scale, with 1 point increments
Quantitative Reasoning: 130 to 170 score scale with 1-point increment
Analytical Writing score: 0 to 6 score level, in half-point increments.
Official scores are mailed in 10 to 15 days after your test date.
Validity of GRE
GRE scores are valid for 5 years. One can request a rescore up to 3 months after your test date.
