Sanima Middle Tamor Hydro Power Ltd

With its office in Dhumbarahi, Kathmandu, Nepal, Sanima Middle Tamor Hydropower Ltd. (SMTHL) was founded and formed in 2016 as a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) Company for the execution and management of the Middle Tamor Hydropower Project (MTP). Individual promoters, institutional investors mostly connected to the Sanima Hydro group, non-resident Nepalis, and other organizations, including banks, insurance companies, and investment firms, promote it. SMTHL is one of the sister companies of Sanima Hydro Group, which was founded in 1999 by B.S. Sanima Hydropower Ltd. with the founding of Sanima Hydropower Limited.

(SHL) was founded as a public business with the primary goal of utilizing Nepal’s hydropower sector’s enormous potential. In 2005, the company introduced the 2.6 MW Sunkoshi Small Hydropower Plant. After the Sunkoshi Plant was successfully commissioned, a strong engineering team was needed to provide engineering consulting services for Sanima’s internal projects as well as projects for outside clients. As a result, Sanima Hydro and Engineering Pvt. Ltd. (SHEPL), a private firm, was founded as a sister organization of Sanima Hydropower Ltd. in the year 2005 A.D. (2062 B.S.) (SHL).

On February 14, 2008, A.D. (2nd Falgun 2064 B.S.), SHELL discovered a prospective location in the Tamor River basin in the Taplejung district of Nepal and secured the project’s survey license.
