How to activate mobile data in Nepal
Here, we are going to show you how to activate mobile data net and how to activate internet in your mobile through NTC and Ncell SIM cards.
Mobile Internet settings to activate Internet in NTC sim cards
The importance of mobile data net for customers has been realised by NTC as well. So, the configurations settings are provided as soon as you switch on your mobile after putting your SIM in it. GPRS (General Packet Radio Service) Settings has to be installed, data network should be turned on and you can surf the internet then. NTC has introduced 4G internet as well. However, if it does not happen, you can opt for another SMS process. You have to send SMS to NTC to request the settings for your handset. Type VGPRS and send it to 1400 or Type GPRS and send it to 1404. You will be forwarded the GPRS configuration settings. Save it in your mobile. Restart your device. Connect to the data net, and you will be able to surf the net. The keyword sometimes might be unique to your handset. Mobile Internet settings to activate Internet in NCELL sim cards
Mobile internet is already activated in all the SIM cards of Ncell. As soon as you put your SIM in your mobile and switch it on, you will get a message saying: You have received the configuration settings for your mobile. You just have to install it, and then you are connected to the net. You can have lots of Ncell Offers if you are using internet though NCELL network on your mobile device.
However, if this does not happen, you have other alternatives. You can use any of the following methods:
- Type A and SMS it to 900224
- Dial 900 and follow the instructions.
- Dial *100# and follow the instructions.

This new settings is very easy and hassle free where one doesn’t not have to care about APN for setting up internet to use data. One can put any random APN in mobile internet setting of mobile handset to use mobile data on NT sim card (prepaid or postpaid). Previously one had to put ‘ntnet’ as APN to use internet data but not this method has been upgraded. Now there is no compulsion to set “ntnet” as apn.
You can put any letters that you wish then save it and set it as default. If you already have any APN in your smartphone, then you don’t have to create any another APN profile. Any APN profile will work fine to use NT Data.
How to activate Internet in NCELL?
For NCELL, first go to your setting menu in your mobile,move to internet or mobile data or cellular or web setting and then tap to mobile networks. After then move to access point Name (APN) and in that section add new access point. In the name section type Ncell and in the APN section type Web and save those settings.
After the save is done then activate the entire setting and when the setting is over turn on data connection to check whether the internet is activated or not. How to activate Gprs in NTC Data in NTC
Nepal Telecom has easy feature to activate GPRS data in sim card. If your mobile phone supports data/internet, you can enable GPRS to access internet on your mobile phone. Nepal Telecom has come up front with cheapest data plans/packs for Facebook. You can even access to 3G with Nepal Telecom internet activated sim card.
Nepal telecom provides different kind of packages for internet. You can activate packages as per requirements which includes Facebook pack and MB packages.
NTC GPRS internet settings for different mobiles are different but you can activate easily. You must type apn as NTNET. This is the main thing for Nepal telecom internet setting.
