Amrita Achariya (Acharya) is a Nepalese-descent actress who is best known for her performance in Game of Thrones series. She is a daughter of Nepalese father and Ukranian mother. Her birthplace is Kathmandu, Nepal. The daughter of Nepalese doctor and Ukranian architect spent the first years of her life in Kathmandu. When she was of six years, her family moved to England. She moved to Norway when she was 13 and finished her schooling there. She spent her formative teenage period in Norway. After finishing her high school in Norway, she again moved to England to pursue her acting career. In England, she learnt acting in Academy of Live and Recorded Arts in London. As Amrita grew up in Nepal, Ukraine, England and Norway, she is a fluent speaker of Nepali, Ukranian, Russian, English and Norwegian. This multi-linguistic actress is not only beautiful but witty and talented as well.

Amrita Acharia appeared in various British televisions series such as Doctors and Casualty before she was signed into the role of Irri in Game of Thrones. Just as she finished her training in Academy of Live and Recorded Arts, she got her hands on the “Game of Thrones” series and she was real excited for the role. In the series, Amrita played the role of “Irri”, a Dothraki woman who is given to Daenarys (Mother of Dragon/ Khaleesi) as a handmaiden along with Jhiqui and Doreah so that the Khaleesi could be taught Dothraki language and customs. She appeared in 13 episodes of 2 seasons: Season I and II. She had to learn Dothraki language for her role in the series and she did a great job with it. Her role was greatly admired by the viewers and though her character dies in the second season, she left an impressive mark on the series and in the heart of the audiences.
